The 2024 Christmas Concert by the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square brought joy and inspiration to audiences at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. Featuring Tony Award-winning actress and singer Ruthie Ann Miles and acclaimed actor Dennis Haysbert, the event showcased a blend of music, storytelling, and community spirit.
The evening opened with French carols, including “O Come, O Come Emmanuel” and “Twas Midnight in the Stable.” Miles joined the choir for traditional favorites like “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” and “O Little Town of Bethlehem” and captivated the audience with performances of “Spirit of the Season” and “Believe” from The Polar Express. Organist Richard Elliott delighted attendees with an arrangement of “When You Hear the Pipe and Drum,” a traditional French carol.
Haysbert narrated the inspiring story of Dr. Charles Mulli, a Kenyan humanitarian who has transformed the lives of thousands of children in need. He also shared the Christmas story from Luke 2 in the New Testament, adding a reflective and spiritual dimension to the evening.
The concert concluded with the Choir’s stirring rendition of “Angels from the Realms of Glory,” arranged by Mack Wilberg.
