Mumbai: In a shocking development, actor Dinesh Phadnis, renowned for his portrayal of Fredricks in the popular crime investigation show CID, has passed away on Tuesday (December 5). The actor, who had been critically ill after suffering liver damage a few days ago, was in the ICU and on ventilator support.
Earlier reports had initially suggested a heart attack, but CID fame Dayanand Shetty clarified that Phadnis’s condition was a result of liver damage caused by the side-effects of other medications. Phadnis had been undergoing treatment for a different ailment, and the medications adversely affected his liver.
The entire CID cast and crew were informed about Phadnis’s deteriorating health on December 1, Friday. Dayanand Shetty expressed that despite the passage of time, the CID team remained close-knit, often having mini reunions. The entertainment industry mourns the loss of the talented actor known for his contribution to the iconic television series.
