Hyderabad: Tollywood’s much-loved rumoured couple, Vijay Devarakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, are once again making headlines—this time for an exciting new film collaboration.
After charming audiences with their on-screen chemistry in Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade, the duo is reuniting for a project currently known as VD 14. The film will be directed by Shyam Singha Roy and Taxiwala fame Rahul Sankrityan, and is being bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers. Music for the film will be composed by the popular duo Ajay-Atul.
Set in the historical period between 1854 and 1878, the film promises a fresh narrative and period backdrop. Shooting was initially scheduled to begin last week but has been postponed due to Vijay’s recent battle with dengue.
Busy Days Ahead for Both Stars
While Vijay focuses on promoting his upcoming film Kingdom, which hits theatres on July 31, 2025, Rashmika is juggling multiple projects including Thama, The Girlfriend, and Mysaa. She is currently shooting in Hyderabad and will soon begin filming for VD 14 alongside Vijay.
Off-screen, their close friendship continues to spark fan speculation. Rashmika recently posted a sweet birthday wish for Vijay, calling him “Vijju,” and praised the Kingdom trailer. Vijay also hinted in a recent interview that he is no longer single, fueling further buzz among fans.
