Former India captain Virat Kohli was visibly irritated at Mumbai airport on Saturday as fans surrounded him and his family, requesting selfies. Kohli, who was heading to Perth for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy, initially asked paparazzi not to photograph his wife, Anushka Sharma, and children. However, the situation escalated when fans continued to demand selfies, which left Kohli frustrated. He was heard telling the crowd, “Should I keep my family waiting to take selfies with you all?”
The Border-Gavaskar Trophy, starting on November 22, is crucial for India’s World Test Championship hopes, as they seek to avoid a repeat of their 0-3 defeat to New Zealand and secure a place in the final.
Kohli has had a tough 2024, with only 250 runs in 12 innings. Critics see the upcoming series as pivotal for his career, but Kohli has historically thrived against Australia, with 1,352 runs in 13 Tests Down Under, including six centuries.
