Moodbidri: Alva’s Media Buzz, the national-level media fest will be organised by the Department of Post Graduate and UG Studies in Mass Communication and Journalism of Alva’s College Moodbidri on March 11 and 12 at Kuvempu hall of Alva’s Degree College. The theme of the event for the year will be ‘Investigative Journalism’.
Renowned journalist Anantha Chinivar will inaugurate the programme on March 11 at 10 am while Alva’s Education Foundation Chairman Dr M. Mohan Alva will preside.
The chief guest of the program will be Dr. Waheeda Sultana, Professor and Chairperson , Department of P.G. Studies and Research in Mass Communication and Journalism Mangaluru University.
The first day of the symposium will have session by Jitendra Kundeshwara, Special Correspondent `Vishwavani’,Mangalore on the topic ` Perspectives, Trends and Practical Implications in Investigative journalism’. This will be followed by various competitions.
On the second day of the symposium, Vijayalakshmi Shibaruru, Senior correspondent, Suvarna News 24X7, Bengaluru and Mr.K. Annamalai, IPS Superintendent of Police, Udupi will interact with the students.
The valedictory function will be on March 12 at 3 pm. Deccan Herald, Bureau Chief, Deccan Herald Mangaluru will be the chief guest of the programme.
Alva’s Foundation Managing Trustee Vivek Alva will preside.
The competitions will be open for all Media students and students. The competitions include Photography, VJ Hunt, Live Reporting, Pagination, Mad Ad, Mock Press, Product Promotion, Short Film, Documentary, Radio Feature and Quiz.
