Bengaluru: Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology is organizing Fourth International Conference on ‘Emerging Research in Computing, Information, Communication and Applications’- ERCICA 2016 on 29th-30th July 2016. This International Conference is conducted every year, which is a prestigious annual event of NMIT.

Technology has become the most important driver for Economic Development and Information Technology is immensely influencing all walks of our life. In this regard Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology has Fore-visioned in the right time by organizing this major event ERCICA for the past four years to provide a Inter-disciplinary forum for discussion among Researches, Engineers and Scientists to promote research and exchange technological findings in computing, information, communication and applications. This conference will provide the platform for promoting networking of Academicians, Engineers and Scientists and also to enthuse the faculty to undertake high-end research in the thrust areas. This endeavor is supported by TEQIP-II (Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme) of World Bank.
The concept of the International Conference is envisaged and derived by Prof. N.R. Shetty, eminent expert in the field of Higher and Technical Education in the country.
ERCICA 2016 received more than 550 papers from all over the world. Technical papers were received from places like Finland, Nigeria, UK, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, USA, China etc and from across the country from renowned Institutions like IIT-Kharagpur, IIT-Roorkee, IIT-Allahabad, NIT-Warangal, NIT-K-Surathkal, NIT-Agarthala, etc.,
The ERCICA Technical Review Committee has followed all necessary steps to screen more than 550 papers of ERCICA-2016. There were six rounds of quality checks on each paper before selection. The proceedings of the conference will be published by SPRINGER, one of the top renowned publishers in the world and will be indexed in Springer Digital Library and Google Scholar. The Acceptance Ratio is only 1:4.
Also, as part of the conference, pre-conference tutorials from eminent persons from Industry and Academia are organized on two recent advanced Topics – ‘Data Analytics’ with ‘R’ and Internet-of-Things-Opportunities & Challenges on 28th July 2016 at Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology.
On 29th July 2016, The Conference will be inaugurated by Basavaraj Rayareddy, Honorable Minister for Higher Education, Government of Karnataka and Chairman, Karnataka State Higher Education Council.
Prof. Dr. Rajesh G. Kavasseri, Associate professor and Graduate program Director in the department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering at North Dakota State University (NDSU), Fargo, USA will be the ‘Key Note speaker’ and will deliver the key note address. Prof. V.B. Coutinho, Former Vice-Chancellor, Gulbarga University, Prof. L.M. Patnaik, Former Vice-Chancellor, Defence University and Prof. Kalidas Shetty, Vice-President, International Relations at North Dakota State University, USA will also participate in the inaugural function.
Prof. N.R. Shetty, Chairman, Karnataka State Universities’ Review Commission, will ‘Preside’ over the function. Dr. H.C. Nagaraj, Principal, NMIT is the conference chairman and Dr. Prasad Naika, HOD, MCA and Dr. Nalini N, Professor, CSE, NMIT are the program chairpersons.
