Mangaluru: To throw some light on the opportunities for engineers in the Civil Services sector, St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Mangaluru, will be hosting a webinar titled “Turning Engineers into Civil Servants” on Friday, 31 July 2020, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. The webinar will be delivered by Mr T P Sreenivasan, Former Ambassador of India, Retd. IFS Officer, Permanent Representative of India to UN and Governor for India of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Vienna.

The number of engineers aspiring to join the Civil Services has multiplied in the last ten years or so. This is partly because of limited avenues for employment as engineers and raising of the age limit for Civil Service examination to 32. Civil Services are important because it deals with our daily life in terms of Governance, Public goods and services, Economic policy improvements, Management of public expenditure and revenue, Fiscal sustainability and Institutional development.

As there is always an ever-increasing need of good Civil servants for our country, this awareness webinar is being conducted jointly by the Department of Civil Engineering and the Department of Training and Placements of SJEC.

This free webinar is open for all and anyone interested can get themselves registered for the same through the link given below.
