Mangaluru: The 63rd Kannada Rajyothsava was celebrated by St Theresa’s School on November 1st in the School Auditorium. The programme began with the lighting of the Diya by the chief guest Ms. Surekha, Principal, Vice Principal, and the senior staff. The chief guest was welcomed by a floral bouquet. The children were enlightened about the significance of the day. The audience was mesmerized by a semi-classical dance by the students. The life of Onake Obavva who fought the forces of Hyder Ali single-handedly with a pestle in the kingdom of Chitradurga of Karnataka was captivated in a dance drama form, kept the children enthralled by their fabulous performance.
The melodious voices of the children hailed the beauty of our state Karnataka. The boys showcased the amazing facts of our state through a patriotic dance.
The chief guest Ms. Surekha highlighted the day’s importance. She requested the audience to keep alive the spirit of our state language in our school. She stressed that we grow in appreciation, love, and respect for our language and culture and keep the flame of Kannada burning brightly.
The state anthem was sung with the audience standing up for it in utmost reverence at the end.
