Chikkamagalur: Asha Kiran school for the blind won 40 medals at the 20th National sports meet for the blind held recently in Delhi.
Disclosing the information, Institution president Dr.G P Krishne Gowda said, Asha Kiran stood first at the national level with a overall medal tally of 40. Girls won the team championship by winning 15 gold,17 silver and few bronze medals.
Among the prominent winners V Radha won 3 holds in 400,800 and 1500 events and P Varadraju won gold in 400 meters and Bronze in 800 and 1500 meter events. R. Rakshitha, Sanjubai, Pramila, M S Sharath, H S Anoopa, M N Soumya, A Maina, B M Sudeepa and Keshavmurthy were among the medal winners in different disciplines.
The team comprised 10 boys and 10 girls.
