DAHS, Manipal University students celebrate ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’

Manipal: Students of MSc HTM, Department of Allied Hospitality Studies, WGSHA, Manipal University, celebrated ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ to mark the birth anniversary of India’s Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on Monday, October 31.

To mark the day, four different activities were held at the open air amphitheatre, Manipal including a seminar on the topic ‘The Role of Culture and Tourism in Peace-Building’, a docudrama shooting on the topic “Unity in Diversity’, skit and report presentation by first year MSc HTM students on the topic ‘Tourism, Unity and Peace’. Prof Parvadhavardhini Gopalakrishnan, Principal, WGSHA gave the overview of the role of culture and tourism in peace-building.

Over 45 students along with 7 faculty members participated in the events which were judged by Principal, Vice Principal and faculty members of WGSHA.

The Unity Day pledge was administered by the Principal, WGSHA. Large number of students and faculty members participated in the pledge ceremony and took pledge for the integrity and unity of the country.

Prof. P Valsaraj, Coordinator, DAHS proposed the vote of thanks.
