Mangalore: Women need to realize that they are empowered. They are already worthy of equal rights in society, said University College Mangaluru Associate Professor Dr Meenakshi.
Speaking as the chief guest at the women’s day celebrations organised by the undergraduate and PG Hindi departments of the University College Mangaluru at Shivarama Karantha Sabhabhavana recently, she added, “The exploitation of women in the name of tradition has continued for centuries. Now though equal opportunities are being provided to women, it is still a dream for the ordinary women.”
Hindi PG Department Head Dr Suma TR welcomed the guests. Head of UG department Dr Nagarathna N Rao introduced the guest. Hindi department faculties Dr Guru Datta, Dr Sanjeev, and others were present. Shreya compered the event and Rakshita gave a vote of thanks.
