Mangaluru: Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College, Deralakatte commemorated the 264th birth anniversary of their founder, Dr Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann, by celebrating ‘World Homoeopathy Day’ on April 13 at the college Auditorium at 10.15 AM.
Dr Mukund A Udachankar, Principal, KLE’s Homoeopathic Medical College, Belagavi was the chief guest. Dr J Carter Singh, distinguished alumnus 1995 batch, Professor and Founder-Proprietor, Brilliant Mediplas, Chennai was the guest of honour and Rev Fr Richard Coelho, Director, FMCI, presided over the function.
Addressing the gathering, the chief guest expressed his happiness to share the dais with the alumni and applauded the college’s gesture of inviting an alumnus every year. He said, “Change is the eternity of life and one should develop the moral courage like Hahnemann to take a pledge to practice Homoeopathy in its true sense. One must also inculcate honesty and integrity as a core value of their personality.”
Later, he conferred the Meritorious Cash Award of Rs 5000 Bijitha Mandal B.G of the 2013-14 batch for scoring the highest overall marks in the I-IV BHMS examinations. The award is sponsored by the 6th batch of the college in honour of the completion of 25 years.
Administrator of FMHMC&H, Rev. Fr Vincent Vinod Saldanha, in his address to the gathering stressed that every student and faculty member must speak about Homoeopathy and set a path to the followers by confronting people and negative thoughts in the public.
Later, Rev. Fr Richard Coelho felicitated the guests with mementos and gave his message for the day. In his address, he encouraged the Homoeopathic students and doctors to speak about Homoeopathy and build trust in the people about the innovations in Homoeopathic treatment.
After the formal inauguration, Dr Jolly D’Mello introduced Dr J Carter Singh after which the latter shared his success stories, life experiences at Father Mullers and encouraged the students to lead a successful personal and professional life.
Dr G Rajachandra presented a paper on “Perception the Kickstarter of Chronics” where he explained how to approach a case.
On the occasion, a walkathon and literary competitions includiung paper presentation for UG, PG and interns, Aap Ki Adalat, drug picture competition and poster presentation were organised on April 10 and 12. Prizes were distributed to the winners of the literary competitions by Assistant Administrator Rev. Fr Sylvester Vincent Lobo and the guest of honor.
Dr Shivaprasad K, Principal, FMHMC welcomed the gathering. Convener, Dr Ranjan Clement Britto, Associate Professor, Department of Organon of Medicine delivered a vote of thanks.
