Mangaluru: The ninth episode of Career Guidance with Prof. Ronald Pinto on Art of CV Writing was premiered on Friday November 12.

Brian Fernandes, Director of Spearhead Media Group hosted the show by NewsKarnataka, which is powered by Loyala College, Bengaluru.

He said, “when you choose your career wisely, the society and country gets benefitted. Brian also cautioned the audience saying, “If a CV is impressive enough you will get your job, if not it might end up in a pending tray or probably a dustbin.”

Prof. Ronald Pinto who is the Director of the Institute for Individual Development, Mangaluru, specifically talked about Art of CV Writing.

Ronald Pinto said, “I was the first person to start a career guidance programme in Mangaluru, covering all the schools and colleges.

Beginning with the topic, he said, “CV and Resume are two different things, which is been misinterpreted by us. Resume in French means “summary”, a summary of one’s career. All the freshers who is applying for a job go with the CV whereas a professional choosing to change the job carries a resume. CV on other hand is a course of life, beginning from class one to that of entire educational qualification.

Lastly Brian Fernandes concluded the event saying, “Most of the jobs nowadays are advertised on digital platforms. It is a structure wherein a candidate is supposed to fill in the information sought by the company through its own software. And so, filling in the significant information is a skill we all need to learn.”
