Global Group of Educational Institutions: Quality education at low prices

Global Public School, is not your ordinary school. It was started in Bapujinagar in 2009 by Abdul Rahim, who was doing well in his business and wanted to do something for society. When he was younger, he was unable to complete his education due to financial problems. He did not want other students to suffer the same, thus, Global Public School came into existence.

In the first year, there were around 80 students in school. It was a very difficult task for Abdul to get these 80 students as he had to literally go to their homes and request the parents to send them to school. Even though he was not charging much in fees, the parents in the area were not interested in sending their children to school. However, after a lot of requests, they agreed to send their children. Some students, who were rejected from other schools, were also given admission here.

Within a year, the school had won in its first step. Word of the quality of education provided at the school quickly spread. By the next year, the school saw a growth in the number of students by 7 times taking the number up to 550 students. After that, there was no looking back.

Now, in 2018, the school has 4 branches (Bapujinagar, Nayanahalli, Chamrajpet and Vijayanagar) and 2500 students.

Speaking about his school, Principal and Secretary of Global Public School, Abdul Rahim said, “I always wanted to give quality education to students. In our school, we provide an international standard of education at affordable rates. Today, education has become a sort of business for many people. For admission to LKG, parents are shelling out money in lakhs. I do not think this is the right way to give education. My school is accessible to all. We charge very less fees and give scholarships to 400 students, who cannot afford to pay fees. I want to give a platform for children to excel in life.”

“The maintenance of the school, along with the salaries paid to the staff takes a big toll on my monetary aspects. However, I am lucky to have the support of my family. We have a garment business, which is doing very well by God’s blessings. A percentage of the profit is invested in school to pay for the expenses. Our country is lacking in education. However, low-budget schools like mine will be an asset. I hope to see more low-budget schools providing good quality education, come up, which will help crores of people who cannot afford high fees,” he added.

The school caters to students of all religions. It is technically advanced and there are cameras in every class. Teachers also prepare their own content to teach the students. Some of the students are slow learners, so special attention is given to them. Teachers are supposed to give a daily report about the students and a coordinator visits the classes on regular basis to see if the students are able to grasp what is being taught.

While Abdul has been the recipient of many awards during his career, he considers the best award to be the happiness in the eyes of the students and their parents. He feels very happy when he sees his students doing well.
