Human Rights Day celebrations at ‘Gurukul’

Kundapura: The Taluk Legal Services Committee, Advocates’ Union, Kundapur Indictment Department and Rotary Midtown jointly took part in “Human Rights Day” celebrations held at Gurukul Pre-University College premises.
Inaugurating the celebrations, Additional District Judge Rajashekar V. Patil briefed about the history and importance of human rights and called upon the gathering to encourage positive and healthy competition among children. He suggested restriction on mobile usage by children below 14 years.

Kundapur Advocates’ Union General Secretary Ravishchandra Shetty emphasised on the need for awareness of human rights in present times.

Chief Guest, Senior Civil Judge Srinivas Suvarna advocated the “Live and let live Policy”.

Another guest, Balakrishna Shetty of Rotary Midtown spelt out on the importance of preventing elected leaders from turning authoritarian.

Secretary of Rotary Midtown, Raviraj Shetty asked the students to correct errors in their academic records.

Pre-university student Pratha Rao welcomed the gathering in the programme compered by fellow student Acacia.

College Principal Chennabasappa, Gurukul School Prinicipal Shaiju K Nair, Vice Principal Sunanda Patil and members from teaching fraternity were among those present on the occasion.

Teacher Ramachandra Hebbar proposed the vote of thanks.
