Mangaluru: The St Aloysius Institute of Education inaugurated its 11th batch of B. Ed Degree programme at the College Auditorium on March 7. The inaugural programme commenced at 10 am, with an inter-religious prayer led by senior students. Dr. Farita Viegas, Principal, warmly welcomed the gathering.
Chief Guest of the programme Dr Manohar Serrao, Principal, St Aloysius Evening College, Mangalore, inaugurated the batch by lighting the lamp. In his address, he highlighted the values of teacher profession and challenges of modern days for them.
Rev. Fr Dionysius Vaz SJ, Rector, St Aloysius College Institutions presided over the function. In his presidential speech, he invited the new batch of students to take up teaching career as a noble vocation.
Rev. Fr Dr. Ravi Santhosh Kamath SJ, Guest of Honour stressed on the exactness and perfection the teacher trainees need to imbibe during their training programme.
The new batch of students was familiarised with the course activities through a PowerPoint presentation. The staff introduced themselves to the audience followed by the members of students’ council. Rev. Fr Eric Mathias SJ, Director of the college graced the occasion. The programme ended with the College Anthem.
