Mangaluru: On 1st November 2021 Karnataka Rajyotsava was celebrated in St Aloysius ITI at 9 a.m. at Samipya.
The President of the programme was Rev Fr John Dsouza S J, Director St Aloysius ITI. Mr Roshan D’Souza, Principal, Mr Alwyn Menezes, Vice Principal, Mr Noel Lobo, Training Officer and Mr Alwyn Sequeira, Convener of the programme were present.
The prayer service was led by Mr Wilson, JTO. Mr Alwyn Sequeira, Convener of the programme escorted the President, Principal, Vice Principal and Training Officer to the dais.
The welcome speech was given by Mrs Padmavathi. Later the students sang a Kannada song “Karunada Tayi Sada Chinmayi”.
Later, Fr. John D’Souza, President of the programme spoke saying that Karunadu means high land. “Karu” is black and “Nadu” is the most beautiful place in the region. “Chest up and say that I am an Indian. Let thousands of people speak Kannada in their mouths, let only Kannada be in our hearts”. We must be blessed to be born in India. Speaking to the students he said, We must be very lucky to be born in Karnataka.
The Vote of thanks was given by Mr Alwyn Menezes, Vice Principal.
Later everyone who was present for the programme sang the Nadageethe “Jaya Bharata Jananiya Tanujate”.
