MAHE organizes 6th edition of Manipal Research Colloquium

Manipal: The Directorate of Research and Deputy Registrar, Academics, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), organized the 6th edition of Manipal Research Colloquium (MRC) at the Interact lecture Halls, KMC, here recently.

The aim of the colloquium was to engage researchers across all scientific disciplines and enhance inter institutional co-operation. It was a concerted effort to bring researchers from diverse backgrounds on a single platform to showcase their research.

The young researchers from various fields of health sciences (HS), engineering and technical sciences (TS), basic sciences (BS) and management, humanities and social sciences (MS) presented their research activities, innovative ideas and had interactions with various scientists and researchers from MAHE and other universities.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. V M Katoch, NASI-ICMR Chair on Public Health Research, Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, Jaipur. Dr. Katoch in his inaugural address focused on the need for inter-disciplinary research and wished this research event to be a learning experience for all the delegates.

Dr. H Vinod Bhat, Vice Chancellor, MAHE, presided over the function and Dr Poornima Baliga, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Faculty-Health Sciences), MAHE, was the Guest of Honour. Dr. N Udupa, Director, Research, Health Sciences, welcomed the gathering. Dr. Preetham Kumar, Deputy Registrar, Academics, proposed the vote of thanks.

A total of 104 oral papers and 246 poster presentations were made by undergraduates, post graduates and faculties. As many 140 PhD scholars displayed their work in the PhD poster competition conducted for the final year students.
