Mangaluru students perform their best in CA exams in one decade

Mangaluru: Mangalore branch of Institute of Chartered Accountants at Aloysius College has obtained excellent results with a pass percentage of 32.78 against an all India percentage of 17.02.

This is one of the best results Mangaluru has seen over the past decade. The examination consists of 8 papers, divided into 2 groups of 4 papers each, where the groups can be attempted individually or together.

Four papers in Group -I are Financial Reporting, Strategic Financial Management, Advanced Auditing and Professional Ethics, Corporate and Allied Laws and in Group-2 are Advanced Management Accounting, Information Systems Control Audit, Direct Tax Laws and Indirect Tax laws.

Mangalore branch’ efforts yield results

Out of 180 students who appeared for the exam from the Mangalore branch at St. Aloysius College, 59 have cleared at least one of the groups and out of the 59, 21 cleared both the groups at once and 9 cleared one of the groups, resulting in a total of 30 aspirants coming out as qualified Chartered Accountants from Mangaluru. This is one of the best results Mangaluru has seen over the past decade.

The Mangalore Branch of Southern India Regional Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India is one of the vibrant branches, conducting several activities for the CA members and students such as seminars, workshops, conferences, study circle meetings, residential seminars, certificate courses, crash courses for students etc. At present, the branch is being led by the dynamic chairmanship of CA Keshava N Ballakuraya and the Managing Committee members. Mangalore branch has conducted crash course at their institute for most of the papers, for the students appearing in the May 2016 examinations, by bringing in renowned experts from Chennai and Bengaluru. This was a major advantage for the students who attended the crash courses in order to prepare well for the exams.
