Milagres celebrates International Women’s Day in a meaningful way

Mangaluru: The International Women’s Day was meaningfully celebrated by Milagres College and Shilpa Healthcare Centre along with District Wenlock Hospital. The students of Milagres Degree College saluted women in a unique presentation with professional dancers from Sizzling Guys.

The Kalam flag was raised and the Kalam Song was played while a large number of students raised their respect to women.

“Women are filled with compassionate love and that is the secret of our togetherness”, said Dr. P P Devan, during his address to the gathering.

“Home is the primary institution and children first learn their values at home”, said Fr. Valerian D’Souza, Correspondent of the Milagres College in his presidential address. About 600 students who had gathered in front of the school gate and Shilpa Healthcare paid tributes to women.

Three days free check-up for women at Shilpa

Shilpa Healthcare Centre is conducting a free check-up camp for three days in connection with the International Women’s Day on March 7, 8 and 9.

Blood grouping and typing at Wenlock

District Wenlock hospital organised a blood grouping and typing of all the expectant women in order to find out their status and to take care of their RH incompatibility during their pregnancy.

Three open forums launched

Dr. Rajeshwari Devi, DMO, launched “WE CAN Create Space for Women”, Dr. P P Devan launched “I CAN Transform the World” and Fr. Michael Santhumayor launched “YOU CAN Build the Nation.”

Dr. K R Kamath, President of the Indian Medical Association, Mangaluru Branch, Abdul Raheem Teekay, poet and writer, Dr. Praveena Pai, specialist in Infertility Care, Charan Suvarna, Creative Director, Fashion ABCD and Mrs & Mr. Sunny John, Mg. Partners of Shilpa Healthcare Centre were the chief guests along with film stars Josita Anola Rodrigues and Navya Poojary.

Wilma Fernandes, Shubkiran Mani, Tomy George, Sajith Gopal, Blesson, Ann John and Jayaram were the coordinators of the programme.
