Mangaluru: ‘Excelso 2K19’, a one day Inter Collegiate Commerce, Management, Science and Literary Fest was held at Milagres College Auditorium on Thursday, February 7, 2019.
The fest was inaugurated by Rev Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, Director, Father Muller’s Charitable Institutions, Mangaluru. H Ramesha, Chief Manager, Indian Bank, Mangaluru was the Guest of Honour.
The Chief Guest Rev Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho in his message appreciated the various teams of different colleges for being a part of the event. He said “Academic stress is a part of life of every student. The students should be able to balance academic stress and should have a passion to fulfill their talents. All cannot win but giving our best is more important. Participation in such events builds cordial and healthy relation among colleges. An event like ‘Excelso’ gives a platform to bring out the hidden talents and helps the growth of every individual.”
Cecilia Pereira, Vice President of Milagres Parish Pastoral Council, Laveena Lobo, PTA President, Prof Loudusamy, Academic Advisor, Savio DSouza and Ms Glenita Menezes, Student Representatives were on the dais.
Rev Fr Michael Santhumayor, Principal, Milagres College, welcomed the gathering. Glanciya Roche, Excelso Coordinator proposed the vote of thanks. Elston Vas compeered the programme.
Events such as mad adds, mock interview, cooking without fire, model making, coding and gaming, solo singing, extempore (English, Hindi, Kannada and Konkani) were organized during ‘Excelso 2K19’.
The Chief Guest of the valedictory function Dr Yathish Kumar, Associate Professor, University College, Mangaluru in his message said technology would be a quick solution for our problems but it is necessary to strive hard to achieve success. Rev Fr Valerian DSouza, Correspondent, Milagres College was present on the occasion.
As many as 185 students of 24 colleges actively participated in the fest. Poornaprajna College, Udupi won the overall championship and Padua College Mangaluru were the runners up.
