Mangaluru: The Department of Dermatology in association with the Department of Orthopaedics of Father Muller’s Medical College (FMMC), conducted a guest lecture here on January 31 at its Conference Hall. This programme was organised to commemorate the Anti-Leprosy Day.
The programme started with the inauguration where Dr. Sukumar D, Professor and HoD, welcomed the gathering. Rev. Fr. Richard Coelho, Director FMCI, addressed the gathering. Rev. Fr. Ajith Menezes, Administrator, FMMC; Dr. Jayaprakash Alva, Dean, FMMC; Dr. Sanjeev Rai, Chief of Medical Services, FMCI; Dr. Uday Kumar, Medical Superintendent, FMMCH and guest speaker Dr. Latheesh Leo graced the dais during the inaugural function. Dr. Nanda Kishore B, Professor of Dermatology was felicitated on being awarded the Dakshina Kannada Zilla Kannada Rajyotsava award for the year 2017 for his service in the medical field. Dr. Ramesh Bhat M, another professor of Dermatology was also felicitated on being elected as the IADVL President for the year 2018. Dr. Raghuveer Adiga, Professor and HoD of the department of Orthopaedics introduced the guest speaker to the audience after which the inaugural function concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Meryl Sonia Rebello.
Dr. Latheesh Leo, MBBS, MS, DNB, FNB (Hand & Microsurgery), Unit Chief of Hand and Microsurgery, Department of Orthopaedics, FMMC delivered a lecture on “Paralytic hand in Hansen’s disease.”
The guest lecture was attended by the staff, post graduates of Father Muller’s Medical College as well as consultant dermatologists and post graduates of various other medical colleges of Mangaluru.
