Mangaluru: The valedictory session of the two-day national conference “HR Disruption–Explore Evolve Energise” was held here on Wednesday, April 5.
The students of Roshni lead the gathering in the spirit of prayer through their prayerful song. Dr. Sebastian K.V. led the dignitaries to the dais and introduced the gathering -P J Rai, General Manager HR MCF Lt, Mangaluru and chief guest on the occasion; Mr.Divakar Kadri, General Manager, Cardolite Speciality Chemicals Ltd.; Dr.Laxminarayan Bhat, Registrar of School of Social work, Roshni Nilaya; Prof Asha, organizing secretary of School of Social work, Roshni Nilaya; Basavaraj of 2nd MSW the president of HR Forum and Nawaz, secretary of HR Forum, School of social work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangaluru.
A brief insight about the events that took place during the two days of the conference was given by Mr.Lourduswamy, 2nd MSW to the gathering.
Addressing the gathering P J Rai highlighted how he held Roshni Nilaya close to his heart. Sharing some of his 25 years’ experience he said “It’s time to reflect on what I have done for myself, my organisation, my fraternity. HR Professionals should set an example and keep up the values of the organization”
“HR learning doesn’t stop in a company, nor one gains experience by shifting jobs every time. Learning comes with healthy experience which is influenced by good communication skill, and the ability to manage the change, building trust and believing in people,” he added.
The guest of honor Dinakar, Kadri, in his speech expressed the privilege to be the guest of honour for the HR Fest this year and opined that an HR has to take up the role of a mother, only then an organisation can achieve succcess.
“HR should become a partner, an expert delivering administrative efficiency, an agent of change and a champion to the employees, only then the commitment of the employees to the organization will reach the highest levels. Many people do not have dignity for labour and it is the responsibility of the HR keep up the dignity,” he stated.
Dr L.M. Bhat in his presidential address said, “we all know what HR, HRP is and it mainly focuses to achieve organizational goals, putting right people to the right job at the right time which help to achieve the organizational goals.”
Quoting the example of Ratan Tata who threw out a HR manager of his company because he did not share organizational goals he said “If we don’t have ethics and values we can’t bring anything to the table.”
Highlighting the need for change he said, “three apples changed the world, the Apple that Eve ate, the apple that fell on Newton’s head and the half eaten apple of Steve Jobs. But, anyone of you could find the fourth apple that is going to change the world.”
Prof. Asha Lobo delivered the vote of thanks to all the dignitaries and presented the mementos to all the guests on the dais. She also thanked all the management and the staff for all their support and love and head of HR Forum Dr. Sebastian K.V. She also thanked and wished a great learning experience to all the students. A Special thanks was mentioned to the students of school of Roshni Nilaya, News Karnataka and all those who worked for the success of this event.
