NCACSP 2016: Two-day national conference inaugurated at SJEC

Mangaluru: A two-day national conference on Advances in Communication and Signal Processing (NCACSP-2016) was inaugurated at St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Vamanjoor, on Thursday, August 11.
E Vasanth, Former Deputy ISAC-ISRO who was the chief guest on the event said that today’s generation is lucky to have such educative conferences.

“There used to be no conferences in our times. Nowadays, we can find them happening at every institution. Delegates participating in this event can gather good knowledge through these meetings. The students studying in various colleges will soon go out. These types of conferences play very important role in their future,” he said.

“Conferences are not for meeting and chatting. It’s for sharing information. Earlier days, it used to be ‘roti, kapda aur makan’, but now it’s ‘roti, kapda, makan and bandwidth’. Technological growth is never ending. All participants in this conference should make good use of this conference,” he added.

Dr Joseph Gonsalvis, Prinicipal, SJEC said that every engineering graduate should research on core areas and serve their motherland.

“The chief guest of today’s event could have easily worked abroad, but he chose to serve his country. I would advise the students to follow the same. I wish the event all the success and also that it sustains and grows in the coming years,” he said.

Rev Fr Rohith D’Costa, Director In-Charge who delivered the presidential address, said that we have to thanks the scientist and engineers for the communication devices we have today.

“The scientists and engineers are improving connectivity and developing new technologies. A common man is able to access to communication devices only due to the efforts of engineers. I am very glad to see the attendance here today. There should be increase in the research papers submitted in NCACSP. Hope every participant in this event helps in improving devices and systems and do their bit in contributing to the society,” he said.

Earlier, the dignitaries on the dais released the proceedings and the CDs of NCACSP – 2016. The chief guest, E Vasnath was honored on the occasion.

Shama B N, Asistant Professor, SJEC, briefed about the event. The head of department of electronics and communications engineering (ECE) Dr Savitha H M welcomed the gathering.  Assistant Professor Dr Bini A A, proposed the vote of thanks.

Vice-principal, Dr Rio D’Souza, faculty, students and others were present on the occasion.
