Nitte: Civil Engineering Department of NMAM Institute of Technology held a two-day workshop on 3D miniature modelling and 3D StudioMax on August 28 and 29.
Inaugurating the workshop, chief guest of the event and proprietor of Sai CADD Manjunath Reddy said “The use of software has opened up new avenues in civil engineering. In the modern competitive world acquisition of knowledge and continuous learning is paramount. Keeping abreast with new software is essential for distinguishing from the general crowd.”
Vice Principal of the college D I R Mithanthaya in his presidential address urged the students to show grit in the face of adversity. “There is a great need to invent alternative ways to reduce resource dependence for the sustainability of earth,” he said.
Head of the Department of Civil Engineering Dr. Uday Kumar G congratulated the students for taking part in the workshop. Convener of the programme Pradeep Karanth welcomed the guests, whereas OCEAN convener Suresh Y R proposed the vote of thanks.
The students of the fifth-semester showcased miniature 3D models while seventh-semester students learned about the intricacies of 3D StudioMax software.
