Mangalore: Political science should be taught in more schools and colleges. Teachers should enhance the skills of their students to write competitive exams, said Mangalore University Department of Political Science Chairman Prof. P L Dharma opined.
He spoke as the chief guest at the Annual General Meeting of the Political Science Lecturers’ Association of Mangalore University and felicitated retired professors at Geetha SM Shetty Hall of Bunts Hostel here on Monday. On the same occasion, political science lecturers who retired after 2019 were felicitated. Speaking on behalf of the honourees, senior professor Prof. Rajaram Tolpadi said to the lecturer that knowledge gets some value only when it is followed by the person.
At the same time, tributes were paid in memory of political science lecturers of university level colleges who passed away in the last three years. Dr Praveen K and Vidyanath managed the event. Mangalore University Political Science Lecturers Association President Dr Shani KR welcomed the guests. Secretary Dr. Ganesh Shetty proposed vote of thanks. Panduranga of GFGC College, Kota Padukere emceed the event.
Retired Principal of GFGC Puttur Prof. Xavier D’Souza, Retired Principal of Sri Sharada College, Basrur Dr Dinesh Hegde, Senior Professor Dr Latha A. Pandit, Prof. Dayananda Naik and others were present on the occasion.
