Mangaluru: The seventeenth episode of Career Guidance with Prof. Ronald Pinto on ‘Self – Employment’ was premiered on Friday January 7.
Brian Fernandes, Director of Spearhead Media Group hosted the show by News Karnataka, which is powered by Loyala College, Bengaluru.
The session began with segregating the difference between self-employment and being employed by others.
Hardwork, perseverance, self-confidence and a good contact are certain qualities required to initiate self-employment, said Prof. Ronald Pinto answering host’s question on the qualities required to begin with a self-employment.
Describing about Micro Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) sector he said, government provides subsidies to these based on their sector. Product Survey, identification of Place, Finance, Being the master of the field are certain measures which has to be looked into before starting up with one’s own business.
Prof. Pinto concluded the session stating that the success stories of self employement like Ideal ice cream, Reliance Industries and J.K. Rowling’s Harrypotter.
All the success stories in self-employement have witnessed their initial failures and so, failure is the stepping stone towards success, said Brian Fernandes and signed off.
