Mangaluru: Students from St Aloysius College (Autonomous) witnessed the annular solar eclipse, the biggest astronomical event of the year, on Thursday, December 26. Association of Friends of Astronomy (Goa) also joined the public sighting to facilitate eclipse observation with telescopes and cameras.
The solar eclipse started at 8:03 am and an annular eclipse occurred at 9:24 am. It was a memorable moment for all the viewers.
Indian Planetary Society President Dr. J. J. Rawal was also present along with SAC Principal, teachers, and students. Small children and the general public also joined in to view the eclipse. The event had been organised by the Physics Department of the college.
