Mangaluru: Sahyadri Athletic team emerged as Over all Champions (with 91 points) for the 5th time at VTU level Inter Collegiate Athletic competition held at Dr. T. Thimmaiah Institute of technology, Kolar from 15th to 18th November, 2016. As many as 127 colleges and 1520 athletics participated from different colleges of Karnataka State in the VTU level Athletic competition.
Sahyadri Girls team won the overall Championship in girls section with 59 points and our Boys team won the overall Championship in Boys section with 32 points. The march past team won the 2nd place.
Manisha A. of 1st year IS won the best athlete award in the girls section. Vikyath V.S. 3rd sem MBA created a new meet record in Discus throw by throwing 38.98 mtrs. He broke his own record which was created in the year 2015 by throwing 38.32 mtrs. Sahyadri girls relay team created a new meet record with a timing of 54.71 sec. They broke the record of MSRIT, Bengaluru which was created in the year 2013 by clocking 55.9 sec.
