Mangaluru: A team of First year engineering students Pro-Motors of Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, Mangalore won the “Best Technical Innovation Award” for their creative work of building a robot at a three-day technical fest, OJASS’17 held at National Institute of Technology (NIT)-Jamshedpur.
The team accompanied by Mr. Gautham Nayak, Technical Trainer, DTlabz participated in the events, Tachyon (Line follower) and Shape Shifter. Shape Shifter required the participants to build a robot which can traverse in different arenas, pick and place objects based on the problem statement.
The team was successful in completing the task and thus won the “Best Technical Innovation Award” for their creative work of building the robot. It was the only robot which operated wirelessly amongst all the robots of other teams from various NIT’s and IIT’s.
Dr. Manjunath Bhandary, President, Bhandary Foundation and Dr. Umesh. M. Bhushi, Principal of the college congratulated the winning team.
