Mangaluru: Every year on July 1, the birth and death anniversary of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy is celebrated as Doctors’ Day. To mark this occasion, senior Doctors were felicitated by A J Hospital and Research Centre, and A J Institute of Medical Sciences. The programme was held at the conference hall of A J Hospital and Research Centre on June 30.
Prashanth Shetty, Vice President, Laxmi Memorial Education Trust, Dr. Prashanth Marla, Medical Director, AJ Hospital & Research Centre, Dr. Amitha Marla, Director – Medical Administration, Dr. Ashok Hegde, Dean, AJ Institute of Medical Sciences, and Dr. Raghavendra Kini, Principal, AJ Institute of Dental Sciences felicitated the senior doctors for their meritorious service in the field of healthcare and education.

- Dr. Latha Sharma, Senior Gynaecologist and former HoD, OBG, A J Institute of Medical Sciences
- Dr. Jayaram Shetty, General Practitioner, serving the community at Bajpe for the past 40 years
- Dr. Kumaraswamy U, General Practitioner, serving the community at Derebail, Konchady for the past 37 years.
The senior doctors called upon the younger generation to be more humane in their service to the mankind.
