SJEC organizes “Anveshan 2018”, promoting entrepreneurship

Mangaluru: Anveshan 2018, an Ideathon to promote Entrepreneurship was organized at St Joseph Engineering College in collaboration with Eagle10 Ventures, Bengaluru on October 13.

The event was under the covers for about a month’s time where the students were preparing to showcase their talents on the big day. More than 20 teams participated in this grand Ideathon to share their ideas. Each team presented along with a demonstration of their ideas.

The inaugural function comprised of dignitaries Director of SJEC Rev Fr Wilfred Prakash D’Souza, Assistant Director of SJEC Rev Fr. Rohit D’Costa, and Principal Dr. Rio D’Souza along with other invitees.

The panel of judge’s comprised of 6 eminent personalities namely Co-Founders of Eagle10 Ventures Pramod D’Souza & Mr Prashant Pansare, NITK Alumnus Shivaprasad, Senior Architect Dr. Shridhar Rao, HOD of Computer Science Engineering Dr. Sridevi Saralaya, and Consultant Nihal.

Students from the third and the final year of Engineering and MCA participated in this event.

The students were mentored by the faculty coordinators.

Associate Professor of the Dept of Mechanical Engineering Dr Purushothama Chippar, Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering Yathish Kumar K, and Placement Officer Sangeeta Ferrao, along with the members of the Innovation Club of SJEC worked very closely with the students ensuring active and meaningful participation.

Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering Anusha MM, was the host during the Inaugural.

Team RNS was awarded the “Outstanding Innovative Idea” award, in addition to three other winners. Team Land Sharks won the first prize while Team Accipro and Team Book My Occasion won the second and third prizes, respectively.

The management of SJEC congratulates all winners of this Ideathon and thanks Eagle10 Ventures for their continuous support.
