Mangalore: Former Lions Club 317-D district president Devadas Bhandary opined that sportsman spirit can help in building society as well as the nation. He was speaking as the chief guest of Annual Sports Day 2020 at University College Mangalore on Friday.
In his inaugural speech, retired assistant physical director Dayakar hoped that sports would spread the message of peace and harmony. Lions Cauvery Club President Shakeela Raj thought that sports make a person stronger physically and emotionally. Principal Dr. Uday Kumar M A presided over the function. Meanwhile, the third edition of the UPL cricket league was inaugurated.
The March Past attracted attention. Various games were organized throughout the day for students, teaching and non-teaching staff and also for the old students. Especially, the tug of war and cricket match between students union and Principals team raised curiosity among the audience. Prizes were given to students who won in various events.
Physical Education Deputy Director Dr. Keshava Murthy welcomed guests. Sports Secretaries Manish Kumar and Kavya were present. Vani mastered the stage program.
