Mangaluru: Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala, Mysore, one of India’s topmost residential schools for boys has arranged a regional get-together for its old students at the Sri Ramakrishna Ashram, Near Mangaladevi Temple, Mangalore on Sunday, September 10.
About 120 old boys, from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district who studied from 1960s till recent times at the school will get a chance to strengthen their old bond at the event, organised by the Old Boy’s Association which will also be graced by Reverend Swamijis and teachers of the school.The programme will start at 8.30 am and go on till 4 pm.
Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala, Mysore is one of India’s topmost residential schools for boys and was established about sixty five years ago by Late Reverend Swami SomanathanandajiMaharaj. Set on a campus spread over 75 acres, the school has excellent infrastructure facilities including eighteen playgrounds, stadium, swimming pool, gymnasium, auditorium and a library to name just a few.
This school has carved its own niche and has consistently produced students of rare calibre who have gone on to become men of prominence in various fields of activity. The school reached great heights under the noble guidance of Reverend Swami Sureshanandaji Maharaj. The school is known for the all-round growth of students giving importance to academics, sports and hobbies alike.
There is a family-like atmosphere in this residential school where all students know each other well and bond together even after they leave school, irrespective of the period of their study.
