Mangaluru: The Department of Chemistry, Centre for Post Graduate Studies and Research, St Agnes College (Autonomous), organized a Certificate Course on research methodology in Chemistry and Seminar on “the Genesis and Execution of Research” on 29 March 2023. The session was compered by Mr Binan of Final year M.Sc. and the session was started with a prayer. The resource person was Dr B. K. Sarojini, Professor and Chairperson, Department of Industrial Chemistry, Mangalore University. Dr Sapna Kumari, Head of the P.G. Department of Chemistry welcomed the gathering and Dr Geetha Maple Pinto, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry gave a flower to Dr Sarojini as a token of love. The feedback about this certificate course was given by Ms Stoney of the first year M.Sc.
During the inaugural session for this workshop Dr Sarojini talked about the research which is a systematic investigation designed to develop or contribute to generalizable knowledge. She also talked about the emerging areas of research in chemistry. The way she explained all facts about research work motivated young minds to do research work and to know more about chemistry.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Geetha Pinto. The session ended with the College Anthem.
