Mangaluru: The Department of Business Administration at St. Agnes College (Autonomous) Mangaluru had organised an extension activity for the eighth and ninth standard students of St. Joseph’s English Medium High School, Kulshekhar, on the topic “Psychological Effects of Social Media”.
The objective was to create awareness on the negative impact of social media on students.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Elson D’Souza, who is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Business Administration.
The Headmistress of St. Joseph’s English Medium High School welcomed the group and thanked them for selecting a topic which was useful for the students.
The programme began with an action-song led by Naazisha and group. Naazisha, Mirfath, Ashfiya, and Shibani gave a presentation on “Effects of Social Media”. A skit was enacted by Amna, Muskaan, Hiba, Nilofer, and Shibani on the topic “Cyber Crime”.
Games were conducted after the session and winners were rewarded. The extension activity was successful and blissful; all the students gave positive feedback and enjoyed the programme.
The programme was concluded by Elson Dsouza with a message on peer pressure and how to overcome it.
