Mangaluru: St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangaluru in association with St Aloysius College Alumni Association (SACAA) felicitated its proud alumnus, the Great Son of India awardee and Hon’ble Speaker, Sri U T Khader on his remarkable achievements being a politician on 24th July 2023 in L.F. Rasquinha Hall of LCRI Block of the College.
Rev. Fr Melwin J Pinto, SJ, Rector of St Aloysius Institutions, Rev. Dr Praveen Martis, SJ, Principal, Dr Awlyn D’Sa, Registrar and Controller of Examinations, Sri Sunil Kunder, President, SACAA and Sri N.G. Mohan, SACAA Executive Member, were on the dais.
Addressing the gathering, Sri U T Khader reminisced his school and college days at St Aloysius College. He also shared his experiences as a politician and explained the work ethics of a Speaker of Vidhana Sabha. He told the students to learn about public administration and governance if they want to go into politics. He also shared the news that the Government of Karnataka will be going to introduce a programme for students on public administration and governance and same will be implemented soon. He requested the College authorities to implement the same in the Degree syllabus as a subject so that the students can benefit from it.
Dr Dinesh Nayak, Dean, Human Resources compered the programme. Sri N.G. Mohan introduced Sri U.T. Khader and Dr Awlyn D’Sa read the Citation. Rev. Dr Praveen Martis welcomed the gathering. Sri Sunil Kunder proposed the vote of thanks.
