Mangaluru: Certain ceremonies are celebrated with a difference and one such ceremony is the Kindergarten Graduation Day, where tiny tots complete their tenure in the Kindergarten School and prepare themselves to step into a completely new world of Primary School.
The Kindergarten Section of St Aloysius Gonzaga School celebrated the V- Graduation Ceremony on March 23, at the Gonzaga Hall. Dr Bhasker Shetty, President of the Nandavan Education Trust, Mangaluru, was the chief guest. Rev. Fr Dionysius Vaz SJ, Rector of St Aloysius Institutions and Vice President of Mangalore Jesuit Educational Society, presided over the function.
The ceremony commenced with a grand march past, where the graduates and dignitaries dressed in the convocation attire, led by the upcoming leaders of the school, marched with pride. The formal function began by invoking the blessings of the Lord Almighty through a hymn.
The Principal, Grace Noronha presented the little graduates to the dignitaries and the parents, followed by the conferment of the title by Fr Dionysius. This was followed by a distribution of the diplomas.
Fr Dionysius then gave the students an inspiring and motivating message to charge them for their future. A pledge was then administered by the principal. Kindergarten students, Relson Cutinha and Rebecca Thangam Joshua, shared their fond memories with the audience. Parents, Divya Vijayamma Bhat and Harish Patil shared their wonderful experiences of the school.
In his presidential address, Rev. Fr Dionysius gave a short, yet meaningful message about sensitising the children towards the less privileged members of the society, which will help them become compassionate human beings.
The chief guest, Dr Bhasker Shetty shared his views on good parenting and the parents’ role in moulding the students into responsible citizens of the country. Rev Fr Melwin Mendonca SJ, manager of the school, encouraged the little graduates to be compassionate good citizens in his speech.
The event was followed by a photo-shot and the ceremony was concluded with the National Anthem.
Gloria Misquith and Rasha D’souza compeered the event. Aparna Suresh KG, coordinator welcomed the gathering. Reshma Pereira delivered a vote of thanks.
Rev. Fr Melwin Mendonca S J, Manager of St Aloysius Gonzaga School and Academic Principal Mrs Grace Noronha, were also present.
