Mangaluru: An eventful Independence Day program was organized by the St. Milagres Credit Souhardha Co-operative Society in collaboration with St. Agnes Special Children’s School, marking a memorable celebration of the nation’s freedom. The event took place at the premises of St. Agnes Special Children’s School, and it was marked by a series of heartfelt performances and meaningful interactions.
The program commenced with the soulful rendition of a prayer song by the students, filling the atmosphere with a sense of reverence and unity. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the esteemed guests marked the formal inauguration of the proceedings.
Reverend Father Robin Joyson, the assistant parish priest of Milagres Church, inaugurated the event and lauded the remarkable contributions of the co-operative society in the realms of social welfare and cooperation. He took time to engage with the children, sharing moments of joy and camaraderie.
The distinguished presence of Professor Maria D’ Costa, a guest of honor, added a touch of inspiration to the event. She particularly acknowledged the exemplary service rendered by the organization, highlighting the pivotal role played by Mr. George Fernandes, the President, and his wife, Rosalyn Fernandes.
