Mangaluru: An eventful Independence Day program was organized by the St. Milagres Credit Souhardha Co-operative Society in collaboration with St. Agnes Special Children’s School, marking a memorable celebration of the nation’s freedom. The event took place at the premises of St. Agnes Special Children’s School, and it was marked by a series of heartfelt performances and meaningful interactions.

The program commenced with the soulful rendition of a prayer song by the students, filling the atmosphere with a sense of reverence and unity. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the esteemed guests marked the formal inauguration of the proceedings.

Reverend Father Robin Joyson, the assistant parish priest of Milagres Church, inaugurated the event and lauded the remarkable contributions of the co-operative society in the realms of social welfare and cooperation. He took time to engage with the children, sharing moments of joy and camaraderie.

The distinguished presence of Professor Maria D’ Costa, a guest of honor, added a touch of inspiration to the event. She delivered motivational messages to the children, accompanied by heartfelt prayers. She extended her best wishes for the prosperity of both St. Milagres and St. Agnes institutions. She particularly acknowledged the exemplary service rendered by the organization, highlighting the pivotal role played by Mr. George Fernandes, the President, and his wife, Rosalyn Fernandes.

A notable aspect of the program was the charitable initiative undertaken by the students and organizers. The children of St. Agnes Special Children’s School were presented with essential items like bed sheets, biscuits, and juice. Amidst the distribution of these necessities, the children partook in the joyous celebration of Independence Day, creating cherished memories.

Among the distinguished attendees were Manish Mangalore, the Branch Manager, Aldrin Vaz, Marketing Head of News Karnataka, and Sister Maria Shruti, the Principal of Saint Agnes Special Children’s Educational Institution. Their presence added to the significance of the event, emphasizing the spirit of collaboration and community.

Mamata, a representative of the organizing committee, extended heartfelt gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the event. The proceedings were elegantly hosted by Amita Fernandes, who skillfully guided the audience through the various segments of the program.

The program was graced by the dedicated staff members of both St. Milagres Credit Co-operative Society and St. Agnes Special Children’s Institution, whose commitment and support were crucial to the event’s triumph.

The Independence Day program stands as a testament to the harmonious blend of community spirit and the noble pursuit of service, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to be a part of it.
