Mysuru: The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of JSS Science and Technology University, will be conducting a two-day workshop on “Recent Trends in Nanomaterials for Energy and Electronic Applications” at the Golden Jubilee Hall on January 11 and 12.

T N Nagabhushan, Principal, SJCE said, “The advancements in Science and Technology have brought in a revolutionary change in the lifestyles of people all over the world. Though science and technology have explored alternative sources of energy and mechanistic pathways of harnessing them, the harnessable energy supplies are unable to catch pace with the gradually multiplying energy demand. Hence, the hybrid inorganic–organic nanocomposite materials find many areas of applications in electronic industry, information storage, flat panel displays and ultra large scale integrated (ULSI) devices which are prominent issues to be addressed. Realising the ever increasing demand on novel applications of materials towards energy and electronics, we proposed to conduct a two-day workshop to sensitise the participants on above said issues.”

K V Ramanujachary, Professor, Dept. of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Rowan University, Glassboro, New Jersy, USA will be the chief guest. K S Lokesh, Registrar, JSS Science and Technology University, will be the guest of honour and Manoj Kumar, TEQIP coordinator will be present. The event will be inaugurated on January 10 at 10 AM.

Shankaraiah, HoD, E&CE is the programme convener while M G Veena, Associate Professor, Dept. of E&CE is the programme coordinator.
