Mangaluru: St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Mangaluru, in association with Quacquarelli Symonds from Mumbai, organized ‘US University Fair’, a half-day interaction event for all the final year engineering students of the College, who plan to study abroad. The event was planned and organized under the banner of the Office of Collaborations of SJEC, and was coordinated by the collaborations team lead Diana Monteiro, who is also the Collaborations Officer at SJEC.
Directors of Admission and Recruitment from highly reputed and ranked US universities participated in this fair. They guided more than 100 interested students on STEM programs, application for universities, scholarship availability and post-study career opportunities in the US.
Some of the universities that participated in the fair were New York University, Tandon School of Engineering, USC Viterbi School of Engineering, George Washington University-School of Engineering & Applied Science, Indiana University-School of Informatics, Computing & Engineering, University of California, Irvine Samueli School of Engineering and the University of South Florida.
The delegates interacted with the administration of SJEC.
Principal Dr Rio D’Souza welcomed the delegates to the campus and expressed his interest in building a stronger association with these universities. He mentioned that a growing engineering institution like SJEC will benefit from collaborating with universities across the world, especially in the US. Director of the college, Rev. Fr Wilfred Prakash D’Souza, Assistant Directors, Rev. Fr Rohith D’Costa and Rev. Fr Alwyn Richard D’Souza, HR Manager of the college, Rakesh Lobo and all the Collaborations Committee members participated in the discussions.
The fair also had international destination expert of Quacquarelli Symonds from the Mumbai office, who worked with the students and helped them take effective decisions regarding their higher education options.
