Mangaluru: Mangaluru University has always been providing educational boost for strengthening Tulu language. Tulu has been provided as one of the optional languages not only at the graduation level but also at the post-graduation level but also a plan of including Tulu literature has in the textbooks has been planned, said Vice Chancellor Prof. P. S. Yadapadithaya.
He was speaking after releasing Sirimudi: Tudar Radd, a literary work of the fourth quarterly of graduate class textbook at Syndicate Hall of University here on Friday September 24. Tulu is different from othe languages geographically, socially and linguistically and hence a lot of educational activities needs to be undertaken to understand and analyse the same, he observed.
Speaking on the occasion, Registrar Prof. Kishore C. K. Said that there are lot of issues to be studied and deliberated upon in Tulu language and, thus called upon people to take interest towards the same. He also note that this textbook has made an effort towards the same.
Prasaraanga Director Prof. Abhaykumar spoke on the aim and various struggles behind readying the textbook.
Executive Editor Dr. Vishwanath Badikana observed that it is very important that student strength who study Tulu at graduation level should increase.
