Mangalore: Students should develop a questioning attitude. They should indulge in active research on Biotechnology, Nanotechnology and Artificial Intelligence to contribute to the future world, said JNCASR Professor and Karnataka State Higher Education Academy Director Dr. S M Shivaprasad.
He delivered the keynote during a webinar on ‘Supramolecular Polymers’ organized by the Department of Chemistry of University College Mangaluru on Thursday. Resource person, JNCASR Professor Prof. Subi Jacob George opened the Pandora’s Box of the exciting developments in supramolecular polymer chemistry which have created opportunities in various sectors.
In his inaugural address, Mangalore University Vice-Chancellor Prof. P Subrahmanya Yadapadithaya said that students should get inspired to research more on Supramolecular Polymers which are used in the production of drugs, agriculture, etc.
Mangalore University Registrar K Raju Mogaveera and University College Mangaluru Principal Dr. Uday Kumar M A too opined that the event would help in developing scientific temperament among students. Head of the Department Dr. K M Usha, Coordinator for the chemistry PG studies Dr. Laxmana K, Dr. Sanjay Anna Rao were among the organizers.
