Mangaluru: NSS Unit of the Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), organized the Annual NSS Award function and Mega Blood Donation Camp on Thursday, the 17th February at the Yendurance Zone, Yenepoya University Campus
The Chief Guest of the program Prathap Lingaiah, State NSS Officer, Department of Youth and Sports Govt. of Karnataka mentioned the importance of blood donation and lauded the efforts of the NSS unit for the social service programme.
Dr M.Vijayakumar, Vice-Chancellor Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) delivered the inaugural address and declared open the Mega Blood Donation Camp.
Dr Ashwini S.Shetty, NSS Program Coordinator, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) was felicitated as she had received the Best NSS Programme coordinator award at the State level. Also, awards were given to the volunteers of all the NSS units who represented the university at the National and State level.
The Presidential address was given by Y.Abdulla Kunhi, Chancellor, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University). He encouraged the NSS volunteers for blood donation and appreciated the activities of the NSS team.
Dr Gangadhara Somayaji, Registrar, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), Deans of the constituent colleges, Program Officers of all constituent colleges were present on the program.
More than 182 NSS volunteers donated blood.
Dr Ashwini S.Shetty welcomed all the dignitaries and Dr Imran Pasha delivered the vote of thanks.
