Yenepoya Medical College Hospital Observes Human Rights Day

Mangaluru: The International Human Rights Day was observed by the Department of Social Work on 11 Dec 2023 in the auditorium of Yenepoya Medical College Hospital.

Dr Mohammed Guthigar, head of the department social work welcomed and gave an introduction to the human rights day and its theme for this year. Kishore PH,coordinator, Department of Social Work introduced the guests.

The dignitaries inaugurated the programme by displaying the sign boards on human rights.

Dr Habib Rahman, Medical Superintendent, Yenepoya Medical College Hospital presided.

Dr Leena K.C, Principal, Yenepoya Nursing College, Naringana campus stressed upon the importance of human rights.

Kishore Attavar, former Director of Extension Service, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangaluru was the chief guest who spoke on current trends in human rights and challenges for social work professionals.

Dr Habib Rahman in his presidential remarks expressed his concern over the human rights violations and called upon protecting human rights in all spheres of life.

Nasreen, Mainaz and Muneera, PhD candidates of the Department of Social work conducted the quiz competition for students and the winners were awarded with prizes. PG students of Social Work performed theme dance and mime shows to create awareness on human rights.

Mainaz, compered the programme and Bharath, Dental patient coordinator, Yenepoya Dental College proposed a vote of thanks.
