Mangaluru: Hindus should be organised first. The society should be led by the saints and work in cooperation with volunteers, said D.M. Raveendra, senior campaigner of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangha (RSS).
He was speaking on Friday in the Bhoomi Pooja Programme and Vijayadashami Utsavam at the new office of the RSS in Puttur district.
It is almost 80 years since the Sangha has started work in the Mangaluru region. The role of volunteers in the Puttur district is important in the history of the association, he said.
Kajampadi Subramanya Bhatt, a member of Akhil Bharat Kutumba Prabodhan Toli also spoke on this occasion.
Senior campaigner Seetharam Kedilaya, provincial coordinator Dr. Vaman Shenoy, provincial executive Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, Managing director of Hosa Diganta Prakash P.S. Pranta Saha Seva Pramukh Na. Seetaram, Pranta Go Seva Pramukh Praveen Saralaya, Minister S. Angara, Puttur MLA Sanjeeva Matandur, Belthangady MLA Harish Poonja and many senior activists of the Sangha were present.
