Mangaluru: The programme began at 8.30 a.m with a prayer song by church choir members. Catholic Sabha President Stephen D’Silva welcomed the guests onto the dais and also welcomed all those who were present for the function.

The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp By Rev Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza, Chief Guest Melrida Rodrigues, Rev Fr Rupesh Tauro, Parish Council Vice President Reginald D’souza, Secretary Stevan Noronha, and Sujay D’Silva convener for this programme

Rev Fr Andrew Leo the Spiritual Director His message to the women -. In recent days women are treated equally and we have reached a height where ladies are the pillars of society. Every woman has her own capacity to achieve her goal in her own way and examples are of the women who are present here today.” He congratulated every woman who was present during the occasion.

Women achievers of St Lawrence Parish Bondel were felicitated during the occasion by the dignitaries who were present.

The Catholic Sabha Central Treasurer Melrida Rodrigues, the chief Guest praised catholic Sabha for organising the beautiful programme speaking on the occasion said, Olden days women lacked many of the legal rights, Women should be able to live without fear of gender-based violence, …Women have more patience than men so they can do multiple tasks at a time, Whether a woman in your life is just starting a business, has an established business or runs a sole operation, support her in any way you can. Compliment women on their outstanding qualities. Concluding she said “Strong Guru.”

Wilfred Alvares introduced Dr Caroline DSouza(Consultant, Neuro-Psychiatrist), Resource person who spoke on the “ Women Multiple Roles & Health issues’. Risk factors of Depression, Anxiety Level, Social Phobia & Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

*Dr. Venkatramana Kini (Radiation Oncologist). took up a session on cancer and explained about cancer and its prevention. Cancer is a broad term. It describes the disease that results when cellular changes cause the uncontrolled growth and division of cells.

*Another session was taken on Dr Savita Lasrado ( Consultant ENT (Ear Nose Throat) spoke Thyroid Awareness, Thyroid Disorder: Symptoms, Causes & Prevention.

Lancy D’Cunha, President Indian Catholic Unit & City Varado President Wilfred Alvares were present on this occasion. Sujay D’Silva convener of this programme rendered the vote of thanks, The programme was well compered by Pamela Alvares.
