Mangaluru: Heeding to the call of Most Rev. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, the Bishop of the Diocese of Mangalore for addiction free society “Anti Drug – Month” (September 1-30), and in support with the police commissioner of Mangalore for “Addiction free Mangalore”, an Inter-Institutions “Anti Drug Walkathon”, from Padua College campus Nanthoor to St Sebastian Church/St Agnes Campus is organised on Sep. 25 2023 at 3 pm.
The following heads of the Institutions with 400 people jointly walk the Anti Drug awareness program for two miles. The organizers are the following heads of the institutions:
St Sebastian Church, Bendur —- V. Rev. Fr Vincent Monteiro
CODP/Bandhavya —- Rev. Vincent D Souza
Padua College under youth Red cross —- Rev. Arun Wilson Lobo
White Doves —– Corrine Rasquinha
Catholic Sabha Mangaluru Pradesh ® —- Olwin D Souza
Sahajeevana Okkoota —- Casmir D Souza
St Agnes College —- Sr Venissa
The Walkathon will include Anti Drug Slogans, public address being organized with the cooperation of the youth of the college, social workers, Self Help Groups of CODP, police officials and medical officials.
One of the police officials and medical doctors will address the youth on NDPS ACT 1985 and medical effects of Drugs.
The walkathon will cover 2 miles from Padua college to St Agnes College/church campus 400 people will walk with a firm decision to say ‘No to Drugs’. The program will end by 4.30 pm with refreshments at St Sebastian Church premises with the youth of St Agnes.
