Mangaluru: It was a day of learning mixed with fun and frolic in ample measure as the students of Podar Jumbo Kids School Bejai enjoyed a day out assimilating the joys of the outdoors by way of play, teamwork, persistence. The Chief Guest was Shravan Mahesh (a sport person )and Trainer at Mangalore Roller skating club
“Jumbo on Wheels” held at Kadri Park, gave the children a better understanding of different modes of transport through different activities and races. In what better way could the children be exposed to learn all about modes of transport through various activities? This playway learning is done to develop an interest in different skills like persistence, team spirit, etc.
It was very instructive to observe the kids displaying an amazing level of intrapersonal and interpersonal intelligence as they played and worked different activities with each other. All this was under the personal supervision of their HM, Swapnali Kadam.
The focus was on having all their eight intelligences sensitized through these activities. An approach that would lead them to invoke these intelligences and combine them to carry out different tasks, solve diverse problems, and progress in various domains in the words of Howard Gardner
And what did our kids take back?
They displayed their pride of achievement with the certificates they received. They developed new knowledge and a keen interest in sports of India.
The day’s events concluded at 12:30 pm.
We started on this journey with our children two weeks prior to their SPORTS DAY. The games and activities like train relay, signal race, hot air balloon race etc. were focused on creating much-needed sports awareness among children that will culminate on their SPORTS DAY.
