Mangaluru: The Mother Mary grotto which was much awaited by the parishioners of Ranipura Church was inaugurated at its premises on Saturday, August 15, 2015.
The newly built grotto was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Pius James D’ Souza, Episcopal Vicar and was blessed thereafter by Rev. Fr. Santhosh D’ Souza, parish priest of Ranipura church.
Following this, the President of Ranipuracho Ekvot Dubai N. Vijay Lobo & Treasurer Sunil D’ Souza of Ranipuracho Ekvot Dubai (RED) handed over a cheque for Rs. 1,50,000 towards the church house construction project.
The Mother Mary grotto was sponsored and built under the supervision of ‘Ranipuracho Ekvot Dubai’ (RED), a unit of Ranipura Parish, which is giving their selfless service from Dubai to their parish.
Sr. Vinita Superior of Ranipura Convent, Vice President of Ranipura parish Felix Monteiro, Secretary of Ranipura parish Winnifred D’ Souza were present for the programme. More than 900 parishioners gathered for the inauguration.
Anitha D’Souza, a member of Ranipuracho Ekvot Dubai, welcomed the gathering and N. Vijay Lobo, President of Ranipuracho Ekvot Dubai proposed the vote of thanks.
Jeevan Ferrao compered the programme.
